In early May I went to Toronto for a Conference on "Asthma and Climate Change" put on by the Asthma Society of Canada . I met members of the Board of the National Asthma Patients Association (NAPA)in person for the first time.

Toronto was very dusty so we spent time in the ROM and the Art Gallery of Ontario.

Norval Morriseau - one of my favourite Canadian Artists

We walked around the city and found this statue of Jack Layton down by Lake Ontario.

It looks as if one of the main ways cimate change will affect people with asthma here in BC is smoke from the increasing number of forest wildfires which is reducing air quality. This has been one of the driest and smokiest summers - a bad sign of things to come.
